79 participants, from across the country, started this amazing journey of redefining their skill and their lives. While only 33 of them have come through till the last and most crucial stage of the journey - Production of the final garments for their own fashion label. For the women from the East zone, the inspiration for the garments comes from quintessential rural life of Bengal. With nature as their muse, the fashion designer mentors travelled through various parts of this cluster to meet the Silai school women, like 35-year-old Ayesha Mondal, Laboni, Metildamary, and many others. All these women are trained in Silai school and have now turned silai school trainers and entrepreneurs. Skill training and entrepreneurship has not only provided a livelihood for these women but has also created a space for dreams and aspirations, like creating their own fashion label.
