On The Buck Stops Here, an in-depth documentary on Kashmir crisis based on two months of ground reporting. From different parts of the valley, we chronicle all sides of the unrest. Why are teenagers, many as young as fourteen, fifteen or sixteen, pelting stones? Why are young, educated local boys picking up the gun? We go to the epicentre of the new militancy - south Kashmir - and speak to families of militants to try and analyse why school toppers in the region are joining terror groups like Hizbul Mujahideen. We talk to those injured on both sides of the trenches - protesters and security personnel. Why are local Kashmiri policemen scared of revealing their identity? Kashmiris associated with the state are all targets of hate today. But perhaps no single issue weakened the narrative of the state this time as much as the use of pellet guns. We speak to the families of those killed and injured by pellets - those who have become victims even without participating in street protests. We also speak to politicians and probe how did we get to this point. And why do successive governments in Delhi only wake up to Kashmir as a national issue when it is in crisis?
