Congress chief Sonia Gandhi and Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi have been directed to appear in court on the 19th of December in the case pertaining to the financial dealings of the National Herald newspaper. The Congress has come out strong against the government, disrupting parliament and calling this 'an act of political vendetta' with Rahul Gandhi accusing the Prime Minister's office of the same. The BJP government insists that this is a call of the judiciary and the government has nothing to do with it. Last week saw several disruptions in Parliament both in the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha with senior leaders rushing to the well of the house in protest. With important bills pending, is it right for the opposition to impose a logjam in Parliament? Are there apparent irregularities in the National Herald Case? Are the Gandhis responsible for the deal? Or is the BJP pursuing the politics of vendetta?
