Former National Archer Forced to Sell Fruits, Government Promises Help

A former national level archer, who won multiple medals, has now been forced to sell fruits on the streets of Guwahati to make ends meet. Buli Basumatary was forced to quit the sport due to an injury. She now wants make a return as a coach. "I applied for a job with the Assam Police, but failed to get it," she said. The 28-year-old has now been promised financial assistance by the Assam government.
