In the first phase of Lok Sabha polls, five out of 14 Lok Sabha constituencies in Assam will go for polls, of them all eyes will be on Kaliabor, a Congress stronghold, won last in 2014 by Gaurav Gogoi, son of former Assam Chief minister Tarun Gogoi. Gaurav Gogoi has not only won acclaims inside the Parliament, but walked up the latter in the party and is seen as a young promising leader. While for the BJP-led alliance, Kaliabor is a seat they desperately want to win, BJP's ally AGP is contesting and has fielded a young candidate Moni Madhab Mahanta, a former All Assam Student Union leader who is making his electoral debut. From large chunk of tea garden voters to minority vote bank and AGP's traditional stronghold coupled with BJP's growing cadre base, Kaliabor is not key fight. NDTV caught up with Gaurav Gogoi on his campaign trail and also found how the BJP-AGP combine is taking the fight to his door steps.
