The Labour Minister wants your nest egg, deposits made in the provident fund, to earn higher returns. The minister has recommended to the Finance Ministry that deposits earn 9.5 per cent interest for the current year, 1 percentage point higher than last year. The move is likely to benefit about 4.71 crore EPFO subscribers.
