The Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB) has asked IGL to cut tariffs of both compressed and piped natural gas by as much as 60 per cent on a retrospective basis from April 2008. As a result, IGL could take a hit of about Rs 1,000 crore.
