Sentiment in the currency markets picked up early this week with the government deferring the implementation of GAAR by two years and inflation slipping to a three-year low, says N.S. Venkatesh, head-treasury, IDBI Bank. He, however, adds that the high trade deficit may prevent the rupee from trading above the 54/$ level.
