Speaking on UK’s better-than-expected GDP numbers, Peter Dixon, senior economist with Commerzbank Corporates and Markets, tells NDTV Profit that while Britain has avoided recession in the first quarter the news is of far greater political significance to bearish investors, who had expected a weak Q1, than it is to the world of economics. For chancellor George Osborne it is the best piece of news in weeks, Mr Dixon adds.
