Once bitten twice shy seems to be the case with the oil and gas majors in Gujarat. After floods last year forced plant shutdowns especially in Hazira, most companies are taking no chances this year. ONGC, GAIL, IOC, and Shell have already started working on preventive measures to handle any likely flood situation this year. Even if there is serious flooding, systems are being upgraded to avoid the closure of the mother plant.
