The deal between Jet Airways and Gulf carrier Etihad Airways to sell a 24 per cent stake for Rs 2060 crore is good for Indian passengers as it increases competition, and provides better connectivity and efficiencies, Civil Aviation Minister Ajit Singh said on Thursday. "Competition is always good for the industry," he said, adding that it is time Air India improves its operation due to growing competition.
