The global economy has seen improvement over the past six months, but considerable challenges lie ahead, says Kaushik Basu, chief economist of the World Bank. He adds that China and India will continue to see sluggish growth over the next one year, but could see growth revive to pre-crisis levels post that. For India, Mr. Basu says high inflation continues to be a challenge.
