Aditi Nayar, Economist, ICRA Ltd says that ICRA is expecting an IIP contraction of about 0.6 per cent. She says that factors like heavy rainfall along with strikes in various parts of the country, specifically in Coal India and Singhanery mines will heavily affect the mining output and a subsequent slowdown in coal production, leading to a core industry growth stagnation in October of 0.1 per cent.
