Pronab Sen, Country director, International Growth centre, says the informal sector in India accounts for 45-50 per cent and provides employment to 80 per cent of workforce. The demonetisation of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 currency notes has impacted the informal sector of the economy which can impact the GDP growth in the coming quarters, he adds.
