Congress leader Priya Dutt expressed sadness over the grim situation in Kerala, saying that similar situations have been witnessed earlier in Mumbai and Bihar. At the NDTV-Tata Sky #IndiaForKerala telethon, Ms Dutt said that disaster like these have phases, which begin with rescue operations. The second phase begins with requirements of food, water, clothing and shelter and the third phase is about rebuilding lives. Ms Dutt said it is important for the entire country to support the people of Kerala to ease their rebuilding of lives. As a nation it is important to give priority to environment and though development is important, but not over the lives of people, said Priya Dutt.
