It was a flag hoisting of a different kind in Manipur as candidates organised an elaborate puja ritual on an auspicious day before the elections and pray to God and also seek the blessing of elders in their constituencies. The rituals were followed by the hoisting of the party flag by the candidate, and this entire process is said to bring good luck to the candidate.
