Hygiene Index (HI) is an evaluation tool that assesses the status of hygiene in Indian cities, identifies gaps and analyses the best practices. The Index is used to categorize cities as per their hygiene status based on scores achieved in each of the parameters, under 6 sectors: Water, Solid Waste, Sewerage, Toilets, Health and Behaviour Change Communication (BCC).
