After UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath recently renamed Faizabad to Ayodhya and Allahabad to Prayagraj, the renaming streak of the BJP has dominated the national discourse. This name change spree is not new to India, it is happening since the very first year of independence starting with 'Cawnpore' to 'Kanpur', it has been said that these names are what these cities actually represents.
