PM Modi and the Niti Aayog have been pushing the case for simultaneous elections to be held all across the country in a bid to overhaul the electoral system and to save the huge amount of money that is spent in conducting elections. According to the Niti Aayog, on an average there are five to seven elections annually which leads to disruption of governance and loss of a great amount of time and money.
