Union minister and BJP chief Amit Shah today declared in Kolkata that the BJP government would take the National Citizenship Registry across the country and "no matter how much TMC opposes it, the BJP will get it done". In a scathing attack on Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, he said she is keen on keeping infiltrators to expand her voter base.
