Over 2500 tourists, mostly train travellers from West Bengal, have been stranded in Puri since Tuesday due to floods. Severe floods in North Orissa washed away kilometres of rail tracks, bridges and the national highway between Baleswar and Kolkata. All 10 trains from Puri to Howrah have been cancelled. The budget tourists, who have run out of funds due to the extended stay, are the worst affected.
