The Telangana intermediate board exam schedule for Classes 11 and 12 has been announced. In a welcome unprecedented initiative, the government has launched a massive programme to train teachers to act like counsellors in colleges across the state. This, after at least 27 students of the Telangana Board of Intermediate Education killed themselves soon after Class 11 and 12 results were announced earlier this year. That had provoked a huge outrage and the government was criticised for several lapses that may have pushed the youngsters to take the extreme step.
