The Supreme Court today appointed a retired judge Justice Madan B Lokur to monitor stubble burning in Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh, saying that it was "concerned" about the health of residents of the national capital amid rising air pollution level in Delhi. The court appointed former judge Justice Madan B Lokur despite the centre's reservations on the one-man panel.
