Pakistan's former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, perhaps President Pervez Musharraf's strongest critic, has said that opposition parties will not remain helpless and silent if the elections are postponed. Speaking to NDTV in Lahore, Sharif also said that even if his party gets a majority in the elections, he would still want a national government with Benazir Bhutto's party, the PPP.
