Months after the Punjab government announced that financial aid of Rs 3,000 will be given to registered construction workers during the lockdown, many are still waiting for the amount due to them. Fake registration of workers in government records has made matters slow in Punjab. The labour department has launched a probe into the alleged scam after several workers were found registered on a single mobile number.
