Prime Minister Narendra Modi today slammed the "professional pessimists" for their criticism of the government's vision to make India a $5 trillion economy, saying that people should stay away from such people as they "always feel nothing is achievable and everything is a waste of time". "You can say some people who are asking why we are doing this (5 trillion dollar economy goal) are professional pessimists... The country needs to be aware of such people," said PM Modi, while inaugurating a membership drive for the BJP in his constituency Varanasi. This is his second visit to the temple town in Uttar Pradesh after his party clinched a spectacular win in the national election held in April and May.
