Cyclone Asani that formed over the southeast Bay of Bengal has intensified into a severe cyclonic storm that is likely to bring heavy rain to parts of Andhra Pradesh , Odisha, and West Bengal in the coming days according to the met department. Its already raining heavily in Kolkata. Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Bannerjee has rescheduled a visit to the districts that was to happen this week because of the cyclone . A tweet by the defence PRO said coast guard aircrafts and ships were being used to broadcast warnings to fishermen and that disaster response teams were on standby.
