Listing the killings of prominent rationalist writers like MM Kalburgi and Govind Pansare, LDF leader VS Achuthanandan attacked PM Modi's government saying it has "a fascist approach in the name of development. It is not attitude to have in a democracy". The 92-year-old leader, in the final throes of campaigning for the 2016 Kerala Assembly polls, added that his popularity was because he has "been working for the people".
