A mobile phone has been successfully retrieved from the stomach of a prisoner who had swallowed it last week out of fear of getting caught during a surprise raid at a Patna jail. The surgery was conducted at the Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences on Wednesday. "The prisoner had swallowed the mobile phone during an inspection," said Dr Manish Mandal, medical superintendent of IGIMS.
