It was supposed to be the big opportunity for the opposition and even some of the government's own allies to come together and bring India to a standstill in protest of the fuel price hike and the decision on Foreign Direct Investment in multi-brand retail. In the end though the Bharat bandh was, at best, a marginal success leaving many wondering if the bandh has left the opposition a bit deflated.
