Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has been vehement in his disapproval of the opposition party BSP chief Mayawati's politics. In an interview to NDTV, Mr Yadav appeared to dismiss any possibility of an alliance between his Samajwadi Party and the BSP. He said: "She is my bua (aunt) but if she ties rakhi to the BJP, it creates problems for me."
