Vijender Singh, the first Indian boxer to win an Olympic medal and now Congress's candidate for the ongoing national election in the South Delhi constituency, tells NDTV that he joined the Grand Old Party as its ideology is similar to his. Dismissing criticism that the Padma Shri-awardee should have contested the national polls independently, Mr Singh invokes a popular Hindi song: "Kuch to log kahenge, logon ka kaam hai kehna (People will always say something, it's their job)."
