As Kerala witnessed the worst monsoon in about a century, over 300 people died and several lakhs were left homeless. Intense rescue operations are underway and agencies are doing their best to help. Individuals are also helping others within the limited resources available in the flood-hit state. A couple, both doctors, in Aluva district slept for 2-3 hours as they immersed themselves in providing treatment and arranging for patients. "We thought we would collapse," Dr Najeeb told NDTV. He along with his wife helped bring evacuees to relief camp in Aluva, one of the worst affected districts in the state.
