Flames and smoke can be seen rising across various locations in the Kaziranga National Park, but there's no reason for alarm. Every year, in February, the rangers at the National Park carry out controlled burning to remove dried-up vegetation. This enables fresh grass to sprout, which is vital not just for conservation efforts, but also provides fodder for the animals here. (Video credit: PTI)
