18 people are now dead in the coal mine collapse incident in Jharkhand's Godda District .The incident occurred last Thursday when a massive mound of earth came crashing down on excavators at the Lalmatia open cast mine. Many are still feared trapped. The Jharkhand Government has announced an ex-gratia of two lakh rupees each to the next kin of those killed and 25 thousand rupees for the injured.
