Literary legend Ruskin Bond, who grew up in the hills of Uttarakhand, now fears them. Speaking to NDTV, Ruskin Bond said that while he had always believed that mountains were permanent and people were temporary, the fury of the floods has shown us how hillsides can be completely altered and devastated.
