Shahista Parveen, wife of 24-year-old Tabrez Ansari who died after being beaten by a mob in Jharkhand last week, has said that his religion cost him his life. "He was mercilessly beaten as he was Muslim. I don't have anybody, no in-laws, how will I live? My husband was my only support. I want justice," she said. Tabrez Ansari was tied to a pole, beaten for hours and forced to chant 'Jai Shri Ram' on suspicion of stealing a motorcycle on Tuesday. He was declared dead at a hospital after four days in police custody.
