Two groups belonging to different communities clashed and set afire several houses in Mirpara village of the Howrah district on Monday, leading police to fire teargas shells to quell the mob. District Magistrate Khalil Ahmed said that a dispute at a jewellery shop in the village triggered the violence involving two communities. Several houses were set ablaze. Police burst teargas shells to control the situation, Ahmed said.
