Moments before launching the Goods and Services Tax or GST at the Central Hall of the Parliament with President Pranab Mukherjee, Prime Minister Narendra Modi hailed the GST as a landmark reform that would help India's economy and taxpayers alike. "The law may say GST is Goods and Services Tax, but in reality it is Good and Simple Tax," he said.
