The Bombay High Court has ruled that the Directorate General of Civil Aviation should not enforce guidelines, which would have meant that pilots would fly longer hours and have fewer hours of rest. The high court has directed the DGCA to stick to guidelines, which were implemented in 2007 rather than revert to 1992 guidelines, which did not adequately take into account the impact of jet lag on pilots flying across several time zones.
