Mr Singh recently hit headlines as the man who did what made Kiran Bedi an urban legend with the epithet "Crane Bedi" - 32 years ago he towed away then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi's car. Mr Singh was a sub-inspector then, Ms Bedi, a deputy commissioner of police, was his boss.
