Satellite images of north India in the past week have revealed that the season of killer pollution is almost upon us again with a grey haze engulfing farms where crop burning has started. But what if farmers had a clean, green, efficient alternative? An Indian company, Takachar, has come up with a portable machine to turn crop residue into sellable bio-products for which it has won the Earthshot Environment Prize instituted by Britain's Prince William. Takachar's co-founder Vidyut Mohan speaks to NDTV about this new tech, how soon it can be scaled up and how he hopes to find a lasting solution to one of India's biggest climate crises.
