Close to 9,000 birds were culled on Wednesday by the Rapid Response Teams of the West Bengal Animal Resources Department and as culling of birds continues in the core districts of Birbhum and Dinajpur. The impact of the bird flu scare has spread far beyond the state capital Kolkata.
