The violence-hit areas of Siliguri, where the Gorkha Janamukti Morcha is agitating for an autonomous Gorkhaland, is slowly returning to normal. Security forces have conducted flag marches in the region. The Left parties in West Benagal will meet on Saturday to resolve the issue. The GJM has rejected the invitation from West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharya for talks in Kolkata on June 18 to discuss development projects in the hills.
