Maharashtra on Tuesday reported 895 new Covid-linked deaths, of which 392 occurred in the past 48 hours and 179 last week. Officials said the delay in reporting deaths was because scrutiny of mortality data from authorised laboratories is an ongoing process, meaning that state cumulative numbers are subject to change.
