AIIMS director Dr Randeep Guleria says allergic reactions to vaccines are common and happen to select individuals. Those with allergies should inform the healthcare providers in advance, but they are safe to receive the coronavirus vaccine, he said. On the big question of vaccine immunity, Dr Guleria says vaccine immunity could last from 6 months to one year but people getting vaccinated will need to be monitored to understand vaccine immunity better.
