Clashes in Kolkata, Army called in

Army has been called in as more people joined in the clashes that broke out in Kolkata. Police used teargas and lathicharged protestors of All India Minority Forum (AIMF), who were protesting the Nandigram violence. AIMF members clashed with the police near Ripon Street in central Kolkata, several protestors as well as policemen have sustained serious injuries. Deputy Commissioner of Police Javed Shamim was injured in the clash.
