In Bengal, Mamata Banerjee, who faced a brief ban by the Election Commission for allegedly making provocative remarks, resumed campaigning, and spared no time in hitting out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah. Speaking at a rally in Barasat, she said, "If I am pushed, I can also push back". She said she will "not allow Bengal to become Gujarat".
