Prohibitory orders banning large gatherings were issued across Karnataka capital Bengaluru as the state police stepped up security ahead of the floor test that the HD Kumaraswamy government is almost certain to lose following resignation by 16 legislators. The trust vote, pending since last week, is expected to be held this evening. Hours before, there was high drama in the northern part of the city as the Congress and the BJP workers came to blows when the former tried to forcibly take away two independent lawmakers, who switched sides, to the assembly to vote for the coalition.
