The Supreme Court, in a landmark verdict, ruled that the disputed site in Ayodhya of the razed Babri mosque would be handed over to a trust to oversee the construction of a temple, subject to conditions. The 2.77 acres' title suit was awarded in favour of Ram Lalla and the Muslims were given 5 acres of land for construction of a mosque in Ayodhya.
